Originally a classically-trained musician, Pants started playing the violin at the age of 7. His great aunt founded the
National Youth Orchestra so he had a lot of musical influences early on in his life. In his early teens Pants took up the piano and it was at this point his love for the complex jazz harmonies and the fun of blues started.
Compared to his disciplined classical background of learning endless scales - Pants, on the piano, was instead offered the opportunity to learn revolutionary techniques to play what
he wanted to listen to. Pants grew up listening to The Beatles, Carpenters, ABBA, Queen and similar timeless classics. It wasn’t long before he was playing these, as a young teen, and winning the crowd with his music as a party trick.
Life got busy - but after a bit of a break from music, a global pandemic, and corresponding time in lock-down reminded Pants of his love for music, and he has recently started sharing snippets of his piano covers on social media platforms, these songs and ‘duets’ have since built up a small following for Pants and he has had over 1,000 singers sing along with him.
Pants loves these duets and will always try to listen and leave a positive comment to anyone that sings along with him.
